Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor Announces Exclusive Italian Champagne Brunch

Luxury heritage hotel partners with Il Vicolo in Phnom Penh for a special meal on March 2

SIEM REAP, Cambodia (Feb. 24, 2025) – Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, the luxury heritage hotel in Siem Reap, will welcome Chef Sandro Arimondo from Il Vicolo restaurant in Phnom Penh for an exclusive Italian Champagne brunch next month.

The special brunch, served on March 2 at the hotel’s acclaimed Cafe d’Angkor and accompanied by live music, will spotlight many of Chef Sandro’s renowned specialties, including bruschetta tomatoes, grape watermelon, roasted bell pepper and stracciatella cheese; light eggplant parmigiana with burrata; tagliolini al limone; and Involtini di Manzo beef rolls with speck smoked ham and gorgonzola cheese.

The brunch is priced at $60++ per person for dining only, with an additional $35++ for unlimited Champagne, wines and mimosas.

Chef Sandro hails from Imperia in the Liguria region of northwestern Italy. He attended culinary school in Alassio near the French border and honed his craft in top kitchens in Italy, England, Switzerland, Greece, the United States, France and Cambodia.

Il Vicolo is a much-lauded Italian restaurant situated in the Cambodian capital. The restaurant is celebrated for its elevated and authentic Italian gastronomy, along with its warm and inviting atmosphere.

Cafe d’Angkor, which serves Western and pan-Asian cuisine, introduced an exclusive new dinner and lunch menu in November that embraces fresh, local and sustainable ingredients. Signature dishes on the new menu include Cavignac & Wilson, Brie de Kampot En Croûte, a puff pastry with pineapple compote; French Duck Breast & Battambang Orange Sauce; Ferme de Bassac Pork Tenderloin with ginger and caramelised onion; and Banteay Srey Profiteroles featuring vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate sauce.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor originally opened in 1932 as a rest stop for archeologists and adventurers exploring the kingdom of Angkor Wat, which is today one of the world’s most popular UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Travel + Leisure magazine named Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor one of the world’s ‘500 Best Hotels’ for a third-consecutive year in April last year.

The hotel’s exclusive ‘Culinary Journeys’, introduced last year, offer guests new ways to experience Siem Reap’s rich culture and history, while its on-site ‘Resort Programme’ showcases heritage and traditions at the hotel.
